General Information

The aim of the conference is to bring together a community of students and researchers interested in various aspects of fundamental groups related to arithmetic geometry.

We plan to devote the first two days (Thursday 26.5 and Friday 27.5) to intensive courses on Galois categories, étale fundamental groups and Tannakian categories. Students and young researchers are especially encouraged to take part in these two days. The following week there will be mini-courses during morning sessions, presenting striking recent results and new research directions. Research talks will be held during the afternoon sessions.

Topics that we intend to discuss at the conference include

  • Galois categories and étale fundamental group (course by J. Stix)
  • Tannakian categories (course by F. Ivorra)

  • Anabelian geometry (mini-course by Y. Hoshi)
  • Geometric Langlands correspondance (mini-course by S. Morel)
  • Motivic fundamental groups (mini-course by J. Ayoub)
  • Chabauty-Kim method (mini-course by S. Wewers)

The list of speakers includes:

Fabrizio Andreatta (Milan)
Joseph Ayoub (Zürich)
Fedor Bogomolov (New-York, Moscow)
Ishai Dan-Cohen (Essen)
Hélène Esnault (Berlin)
Yuichiro Hoshi (Kyoto)
